I don’t just write deep emotional songs, sometimes I like to sing and play funny songs. A great inspiration for this kind of songs is the amazing duo Garfunkel and Oates.
“When I first met you” is about how love and relationships are not always picture perfect like we see in movies. They follow different rules and are sometimes weird and not romantic at all. But in the end it really doesn’t matter how your relationship looks like, as long as you and your partner are happy and love each other.
The examples I bring in the song are obviously based on my own relationship with my husband – though I wouldn’t take it all too serious ;).
Here’s a first draft of the song, I’m currently working on a more interesting strumming pattern ;).
