This summer I started writing my own songs. This is something that was very intimidating to me, but also something that I kinda wanted to do for a very long time. There’s lots of topics inside of me that are just waiting to come out and be dealt with and writing songs about them seems like a good choice to get it out of my system.
The first one I wrote started out with the title – “You’re enough”. That feeling of not being good enough, pretty enough, small enough, smart enough,… has been haunting me for as long as I can remember. It’s probably a female thing with all that pressure from society, to be those perfect human beings. But for many people it gets to a point, where those feelings make it impossible to love yourself. I used to be at that point and it made my life miserable. How I got myself out of that vicous circle is probably a story for another time, but here’s the first draft of the song. I am currently working on a more interesting version with some beautiful fingerpicking (hope I can share it with you soon).
