Where I’ll be in 2019

Hello my lovely ukuleleists,

I thought I should give you little heads up on my ukulele travel and workshop plans this year (or at least for the first half of the year). These are the things I already booked:

Songwriting retreat

I’ll start my year with something really scary (for me at least) – a three day songwriting retreat. I’ve never done something like this before and I don’t even know if it’s meant for people who are just starting out. But it sounded really interesting and since working on my own songs is something I want to prioritize this year, I think it’s a great start. So  04.-06. January I’ll be hiding away in a small town in Lower Austria with other songwriting folks.

Grand Northern Ukulele Festival

From 10.-12. May I’ll be in Huddersfield for the famous GNUF. I’m really looking forward to this. It looked like so much fun in the last years and I’ve heard many great things about it. I already booked my flights and hotel. I even put up with missing my wedding anniversary with my husband to go there – so this better be good F;).

Austrian Ukulele Festival

Can’t wait for the third edition of the Austrian Ukulele Festival. The line up is amazing (again) and I can only imagine how great it’s gonna be. I’ll be there 24.-26. May. I’m not sure if I can make it to the special extravaganza on Thursday night cause I’ll have a big work presentation that day, but I booked my hotel for that day as well, just in case 😉

Oslo Ukulele Festival

I am super excited to join Oslo Ukulele Festival 21.-23. June. I am not just there to enjoy the festival – I’ll actually be playing my first live gig. So this is really exciting for me. I hope to see some of you there.

Here are some festivals I would love to attend, but haven’t booked yet (and I’m not sure if I can work them in my schedule):

Ukulele Festival Obermörmoosen

Elisabeth Pfeiffer is hosting her UFO again on 29. June. I couldn’t make it last year, but I really hope I can manage to go this year. The line up sounds great and I believe it’s a really intimate festival with lots of friends. Now that I’m writing about it I might have to put in a vacation day right now…

Berliner Ukulele Festival

Alright, I just booked flight and hotel for Berlin Ukulele Festival 25.-27. October. Looking forward to meet old and new friends there.

Ruhrkulele

Looks like I just can’t get enough of festivals this year. Ruhrkulele is happening 22.-24. November and all of their workshops sounded so great… So I booked hotel and flights – looking forward to meet some of you there.

Let me know where you’ll be, so we can meet up 🙂

xoxo Nikky

Ps: Update April 3rd, May 16th, July 12th
