Some songs are really hard to get out and sometimes a song comes real easy – this is one of the latter ones. It’s called “One Day” and I can’t even tell you how I came up with it…
One day (pun intended) the melody for the first chorus line just popped up in my head. It was a Saturday or Sunday last fall. Since I was at home, I wrote it down and quickly added the rest of the chorus. Somehow I didn’t think it was necessary to record the melody, figured I’d just remember it with the lyrics – and thankfully I did.
The chorus of the song was all I had for a couple of months. Recently I’ve been revisiting some of my song ideas and things I already started, to see if I could get something out of it. I fell in love with the melody again and quite quickly finished the rest of the song.
I’m still not completely sure what I want to do strumming wise – this is always the hard part for me (and most definitely not my strong suit), but here’s a first draft of the song:
