I wanted to try a blues, and since public transport is my second favorite mode of transport I thought it might be a good topic for a song.
The first time my ukulele teacher told me about the 12 bar blues almost 2 years ago I was totally overwhelmed. Wayyy too much information and I couldn’t really grasp the concept. Now that I’ve heard the theory behind it from several teachers and tried it myself it’s finally sinking in. So for this first try I stuck to the classic 12 bar scheme. I want to add some fancy fingerstyle improv to it, but as you know, this is all just a work in progress.
As for the lyrics, I hope that everyone who uses public transport regularly can relate to the song 🙂 I mentioned that it’s my second favorite mode of transport and actually thought about telling you what’s my favorite. But now that I think about it, I feel like I want to write a song about it, so I’ll keep you guessing for now.
