I started this month of singing class with the feeling of defeat. I had worked so hard and was actually proud of what I had achieved, but then it seemed that I handed in something a bit off-topic for the last assignment. This of course was mainly how my brain perceived it and not basedContinue reading “Sängerschmiede Part 3 – Singing without Fear!?”

Sängerschmiede Part 1 – A new journey
Most of you know, that I’ve been taking vocal coaching for a bit over two years now. It helped me lots to work on my voice and develop a better stage presence. During that time I also noticed, that singing (my own songs) is actually what I want to do and the ukulele is myContinue reading “Sängerschmiede Part 1 – A new journey”
In my Head and On Stage @TWUF
Most of you read by now, that I was not too happy about my performance at The Tropical Winter Ukulele Festival (TWUF) and I want to take the time to do a little recap and get you some context to my feelings.
The Road to Finland
As you’ve probably seen by now either on Instagram or Facebook, I’ll be playing and giving a workshop at the Tropical Winter Ukulele Festival (TWUF) in Finland. It seems as if the Scandinavian countries are much more interested in my music than anyone else. I don’t know why, but I love it, because every timeContinue reading “The Road to Finland”

I started my ukulele journey about 3,5 years ago. Then about 2 years ago I ventured on Instagram andContinue reading “My plans for 2020”
Ukulele Retreat – a neverending encounter with the Fraud Police
I spent the first weekend of October in a lovely ukulele retreat in Lower Austria. It was organized by my ukulele friends Manuela and Markus (who also joined me at UFO Festival). They opened up their beautiful home and hosted a fun weekend.
Out-Skilled!?
A couple of weeks ago I spent some three days at a seminar in Bregenz (at the other end of Austria). It was beautiful there and I had a really great time. However, one evening we had a bonfire to celebrate together and well, I guess you know what kind of story is coming now…
Mapping my musical journey
During GNUF I had the pleasure to attend Mims workshop that was titled “From Seat to Stage: Map out Your Musical Journey”. It was not a traditional ukulele workshop where you learn new skills (we actually didn’t even use our ukes once) but 1,5 hours filled with lots of encouragement and great tips on howContinue reading “Mapping my musical journey”
Mean Comments
I love social media. I really do. However, we all know that there are some not so shiny and happy things happening there as well. And a couple of weeks ago I got fully hit with a really mean comment.
Meeting online friends
I think I’ve written about it before, that I can be a little awkward when it comes to social interaction. I’m not really good at small talk (or very much interested in it) but I’m also not a person that opens up right away with everyone. So somehow there’s always this huge gap between smallContinue reading “Meeting online friends”
